Product Review: Apollo Peak MosCATo Cat Wine

Peach’s Tasting Notes: A classic Colorado MosCATo from the get go, the Apollo Peak MosCATo offers a lively nose filled with catnip. The palate doesn't stray too far from the initial aromatic impression, bringing more catnip along with sweet herb taste together with well-honed playfulness and remarkable balance. Apollo Peak MosCATo is always a crowd-pleaser!

We tried the Apollo Peak MosCATo cat wine and kicker toy. Peach picked the toy out as a favorite from the first moments. Every time she comes across it in the house, she needs to stop and kick it for a few seconds before moving on.

The MosCATo is made from brewed catnip which engages the cats in smell, taste, and touch. Apollo Peak cat wines are a great enrichment activity to keep your pet active and entertained.

You can have a drink with your cat (or dog) with their variety of cat wines, such as Pinot Meow, Catbernet, White Kittendel, and Feline Pawrier Cat Champagne (for special occasions). Catbernet and White Kittendel are made from valerian root extract which is a similar herb to catnip. Cats have the same playful response to the valerian root as they do with catnip for endless fun. The color of the cat wine is made from natural beet extract so there are no harmful dyes for your pet to ingest.

Apollo Peak owner, Brandon Zavala describes the cat wine as a cat toy rather than a drink. Although the wine is non-alcoholic and safe for pets to drink, most cats prefer to play with it and roll around in it. He also mentioned that for the best results, it an ounce should be served cold in a shallow dish. Peach didn’t get that memo and decided to drink it, then run around like a mad woman playing with the kicker toy. The Apollo Peak MosCATo is a great way to unwind after a long day of training with your cat.
